France Cadet, born in 1971, is a French digital and robotics artist whose work ironically raises questions about various aspects in science debates and contemporary anxieties about biotechnology. She is the head of the robotics lab at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence, and teaches at the renowned School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In this series of « Anatomy lesson », France Cadet takes over her own “lesson of seduction” and uses those photographic images of her own body where she mimed, in a harder way, the erotic-softs commercials of a well-known French lingerie brand. She showed the same lascivious positions, but this time Thanatos shows under the Eros: the skin is partially gone and we can see her internal anatomy as a cut-away of the 18th century.
