We sit first person in a vehicle gazing out to an intersection with two cars idling patiently. A repetitive movement reminiscent of windshield wipers endlessly refreshes the frame. The cars do not proceed but are bathed by the movement of the stylized downpour. This compounding energy typical of Bjork’s work, packs a powerful visual punch asking us to consider the complexities of the surrounding world. This animation continues the fascination Bjork has with the ways in which the automobile is used as a symbolic artifact of individual ideology and the speculative futures autonomous vehicles will soon deliver with emergent technologies.
