La Saleté documents the performer free falling on a bed of dirt. The performer then lies in the dirt, her breathing body becoming the main focus of the work. In the end, the piece shows the residue and imprint of the fall as the performer walks away. La Saleté serves as an investigation and meditation on death and dying, where the performer’s actions confront the act of dying and what is left behind.
