Anne Roquigny is a French independent media art curator specialized in hybrid digital projects related to networks, the internet, sound and visual arts. She is the creator of the Webjays project, an innovative public display for curating and exhibiting online projects. Her last project “Bbot” is a connected sculpture that uses video projections and the Webjays software to diffract online content and artworks on walls. This pervasive device blends physical and virtual spaces in a unique way. Her performances, shows, workshops, conferences, and publications have been presented internationally at renowned venues, festival, and museums. She founded with David Guez HOSTANARTIST, an online exchange platform for property owners and artists in 2016. In  2017, she launched with Valentina Peri, SALOON PARIS, the French branch of SALOON, a network for women working in the arts in Paris, Berlin and Vienna.

ABOUT HER COLLECTION FOR ARTJAWS : “PHYSICALITY OF THE INTERNET”

This selection of works is focused on the work of Sophie Deltombe, an artist whose practice questions the internet, its aesthetics, language and codes. By appropriating the vocabulary, mechanisms and modus operandi of the Internet culture, she discloses her daily relationship with connected objects. Her work tackles the issue of hybridization between the physics and the virtual and the dissolution of boundaries between the private, public, professional and commercial spheres. Her Internet-derived objects express the speed with which images and data are constantly reconfigured, modified, dispersed or eliminated. By printing traces of the online activity on objects, the artist makes them physically exist in space. By taking them out of their digital comfort it gives them materiality. The impressions of clicks, emotions, exchanges and printed purchases in the browser window also challenge us on the commercial use of data and the monetization of our emotions.
