The Forteresse de Salses explores the relationship between light and material with Bertrand Planes from September 15th to December 17th 2017

From 15 September to 17 December 2017, the exhibition LUMIERE-MATIERE exhibits the sculptures and a laser installation by the artists Yoon-Hee and Bertrand Planes at the Forteresse de Salses.

The exhibition LUMIERE-MATIERE proposes two complementary artistic visions on the themes of light and material, in close connection with this strong heritage place, where these two themes are present.

The visitor will be confronted by two artists and two different creations: the Korean sculptor Yoon-Hee will present five monumental metal sculptures in various places of the monument, and Bertrand Planes will exhibit a creation, “KKL-Kumano Kodo Logic”, with beams of laser light.

Posting an amused and critical look at technology, Bertrand Planes diverts the object from its utilitarian and commercial functions while retaining its aesthetic qualities. The work “KKL-Kumano Kodo Logic” was born as part of an artist’s residency in the prestigious Villa Kujoyama in Japan.
