Call for applications: 2017 Research and Creation Residency – OUDEIS

Oudeis is a laboratory for digital, electronic and media arts. As part of his residency program, he is launching his new call for applications for a research and creative residency. Identified and active actor in the field of digital arts, Oudeis leans on a strong cultural network. Applications are open until 16 April 2017.

The Oudeis residency is considered as a cooperation with a team invested in digital creation. In the continuity of his artistic direction, Oudeis will make his choice towards a singular approach at the crossroads of art and new technologies. In a sense, the artist will become, during the residency, actor of the laboratory, contributing to his approach to a global dynamic and be part of different reflections already committed by Oudeis.

The residency will be established over 4 weeks from May to October 2017. The artist will receive a grant of 1000 €.

Call for applications: Artist residency – Le Havre University

The cultural service of Le Havre University implements a new residency every year. Actors, writers, visual artists, graphic artists, directors… these artists are present on the campus to implement a project with the University community and share their artistic vision. This year, the residence is open to all professional artists who involve in the field of digital arts. Applications are open until 31 May 2017.

In 2017/2018, an ambitious project will be launched at the Le Havre University: a Foucault clock will be installed in the atrium of the University library. Project initiated by Jérôme Brossard, lecturer, and researcher of Le Havre University, many services, laboratories, components, students and staff support will participate in the implementation of the project.

For this event, the cultural department of the University wishes to invite an artist to make a suggestion in which the University community could extend the discovery of the Foucault pendulum. The cultural department of Le Havre University wishes to welcome an artist who invests digital arts: mapping, augmented reality, virtual reality, kinetic art, audiovisual art, video art, electronic music, processing, data design.

The residence will be spread over 4 weeks from November 2017 to February 2018. A grant of 3000 € is guaranteed to the artist.

Open Call: Virtual Reality – 2017 VR Arles Festival

VR ARLES FESTIVAL is a virtual reality festival designed to discover the cinema, documentary and artistic creation; it plunges the spectator into the heart of the best productions in the world. It will once again give the floor to authors, directors, and artists who involve into the virtual reality world. For this second edition, it integrates the official program of the “Rencontres de la photographie in Arles. The candidatures are open until the 17th of may 2017.

From the 3rd of July to the 24th of September 2017, the convent of Saint-Césaire will be transformed into a diffusion platform of exchanges around VR. Each director can present several films in different categories: documentary, fiction, and creation. The selected movies will be in competition during the opening week of the festival. A jury made of personalities from cinema, photography and virtual reality will gather to award the Best Movie.

This film will be rewarded with a prize of 10 000 €.
