Katarzyna Zelaska has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and then moved to Paris where she studied and practised Computer Arts at the legendary University of Paris 8 Vincennes. UBIK belongs to a set of 16 paintings. It can work in the set or as a single piece. This series raises the question « What is the picture hiding ? » and that of the exclusion: the work excludes those spectators who can’t read the specific QR code and take on a trip back in time those who can, giving them access to the artists’ works from the 1980s. In this trip, spectators can also recreate creatures or arcade games of the past, in an eternal Ouroboros.
