This artwork is a homage to Ken Perlin, the creator of the Perlin noise algorithm. The work plays with the psychological reactions of the viewers, giving them a feeling of dizziness and motion. In the middle, a little smile proposes a mood enhancement while everything seems to be drifting away.

Sebastian Thewes is born in 1980 in Solingen, Germany, and lives and works in Cologne. He graduated at Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) in 2015 with honors. From 2013 till 2016 he is giving the seminar “Unsite Temporalities”, together with Dirk Specht in Klanglabor at KHM. Read more
