Blue-white-red, these colors of the French flag represent both the Revolution and the Republic. As both a movement and an institution, values are indicated by colors. By almost imperceptibly mutating the colors, Political Shift projects us in the choice of colors and forces us to be vigilant. When we look at the red, the blue is there! Soon to become green… then red. The wheel of political engagement is turning much too fast! Maurice Benayoun’s tactile experience, like a perpetually updating political affiliation, is a game, an esthetic game, a sensory game that aims to befriend an artwork that shifts from color to color, from value to value. This tactile piece should be placed, manipulated, collected and used as often as possible. Over time, this Political Shift ArTT piece will become a playable and sensitive painting that resembles you.
